National Maternity Bereavement Experience Survey

The National Maternity Bereavement Experience Survey is the first national survey asking women and their partners about the maternity bereavement care they received in an Irish hospital.

If you experienced:

  • a second trimester miscarriage,For the purpose of this survey, second trimester miscarriage refers to the death of a baby between 14 -24 weeks of pregnancy.
  • the stillbirth of a babyA baby born after 24 weeks of pregnancy or greater than or equal to 500grams, showing no signs of life. or
  • early neonatal death of a babyA baby born alive but who dies within the first seven days of life.

and received care in an Irish maternity unit or hospital between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2021 we would like to encourage you to participate in this national survey.
